Can the MINE process be started before the APPLY process is ready to start?

During our migration procedure, transferring the initial production load (dmp file) and importing to the new server will take a while (couple of hours). Can the MINE process be started ahead of the APPLY process?

Solution

Yes it can. Mine will be mining the redo logs and creating PLOGs.
