Before we create DR groups, we need to prepare following objects for further use:

  • create a bucket for FSDR log storage

  • create a volume group to allow storage synchronization between regions/availability domains

Create a bucket for storing DR Group logfiles

There are certain objects like logfiles that need to be stored in a specified bucket.

To create a bucket go to the buckets menu. In the search menu enter “buckets” and select the buckets option found:

Choose “Create Bucket” button:

Fill in Bucket name: bucket-storage-fsdr and press Create button.

Setup Volume group for Central Console machine

In the search menu enter volume and choose “Volume Groups” section from the menu:

Press the Create Volume Group button:

Fill in:

  • Name of the volume group

  • Choose a compartment where to create the volume group

  • Choose Primary availability domain or Primary Region

  • Click Next button

Choose the boot volume of the Control Center to be a member of the Volume Group and click Next button:

Fill in following information:

  • switch to cross region replication

  • Choose the standby region (in our example we are creating Availability Domain replication)

  • Choose standby availability Domain

  • Fill in Name of the Volume Group Replica Name

Backup policy leave empty and click Next button:

Press the Create button from the Summary menu:
